Roger Grimes is KnowBe4’s Data-Driven Defense Evangelist, is a 30+-year computer security consultant, instructor, holder of dozens of computer certifications and an award-winning author of 12 books and over 1,000 magazine articles on computer security. He now serves as the Data-Driven Security Analyst for KnowBe4. He has worked at some of the world’s largest computer security companies, including Foundstone, McAfee and Microsoft. Grimes holds a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University. He was the weekly security columnist for InfoWorld and CSO magazines from 2005-2019.
John Strand has both consulted and taught hundreds of organizations in the areas of security, regulatory compliance, and penetration testing. He is a coveted speaker and much loved SANS teacher. John is a contributor to the industry-shaping Penetration Testing Execution Standard and 20 Critical Controls frameworks.
Kent Brooks served as Chief Technology Officer/ Dean /and IT director at Higher Education Institutions in Wyoming, Oklahoma and New Mexico for nearly 25 years. The last 13 years at Casper College he has provided leadership for administrative computing, academic computing, networking and voice services. He has been a speaker at various technology conferences over the years with recent focus on challenges of cyber security and Artificial Intelligence. The past couple of years he has also coordinated the Rocky Mountain Cyber Security Symposium hosted at Casper College. In recent years he has turned his spare time to recording the history of Southeastern Colorado where he grew up. He has published several books which primarily document the viewpoint of persons during the westward migration in the 1880s.
Brian Clark is a seasoned Network Administrator at Casper College in Wyoming, He currently oversees all aspects of the college’s network infrastructure, emphasizing cybersecurity, automation, and system efficiency. With expertise in Python programming, C++, SQL, and disaster recovery, Brian’s team ensures the deployment of innovative wireless solutions and maintenance of the college’s network monitoring systems.. Brian holds a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Science from the University of Wyoming. He has held roles as a Genetics Researcher, where he presented at international conferences, and a Program Leader at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, enhancing youth programs in technology and science. A Certified Ethical Hacker, his professional ethos is driven by a commitment to precise and ethical terminology in cybersecurity, a topic he advocates for at symposiums like the upcoming Rocky Mountain Cybersecurity Symposium. His affiliations include membership in EDUCAUSE, a leading non-profit for IT leaders in education. Outside his technical pursuits, Brian contributes to his community through volunteer work and stays updated on industry trends through platforms like Discovery Inc and CNET. Brian Clark’s approach to network administration at Casper College reflects a blend of technical acumen and leadership, dedicated to advancing cybersecurity awareness and education in the academic sector.
Ben Halpert is a man on a mission: to educate and empower today’s digital citizens in the workplace, at schools, and at home. By day, he is a Fractional CISO and Cybersecurity Advisor for multiple companies building, running, and optimizing cybersecurity programs. By night, he champions cyber safety and cyber ethics education throughout society via the 501(c)3 nonprofit Savvy Cyber Kids he founded in 2007. Ben is honored to speak and keynote at conferences and events worldwide. He has presented at the World Economic Forum, multiple times at the RSA Security Conference, InfoSec World Conference & SecureWorld events. Ben was invited to present at TEDxKids@Vilnius (Raising Savvy Cyber Kids) and TEDxSaintThomas (Technology Addiction and What You Can Do About It). In addition, Ben has presented at IEEE, ACM, CSO50, CISO Summits, the Worth Safety & Security Summit and many other events over his career. Based on his early research and experience in the then emerging field of Cloud Computing, Ben was invited to publish Auditing Cloud Computing: A Security and Privacy Guide through John Wiley & Sons. Ben was a contributing author to Readings and Cases in the Management of Information Security and the Encyclopedia of Information Ethics & Security, wrote the security column for Mobile Enterprise Magazine and has contributed to seven NIST special publications. Through Savvy Cyber Kids, Ben provides cyber safety and cyber ethics educational and awareness sessions for parents, teachers, and students—from preschool through high school. Ben is the award-winning author of the Savvy Cyber Kids at Home children’s book series (The Family Gets a Computer, The Defeat of the Cyber Bully, and Adventures Beyond the Screen).As a trusted voice on a variety of cyber security issues, Ben has made numerous radio and TV appearances and has been featured in newspapers and magazines such as The New York Times, Wired, BBC, Good Morning America, Good Day Atlanta, CNN HLN, Fox News, RogersTV, RTVI, 11 Alive, WSB-TV, Kilinger, among others.
Bill Hunkapiller, Ed.D., leads the Information Security and Privacy Office at Florida State University. The office is made up of a security architecture team, a security operations team and a risk, compliance and privacy team. The team’s mission is to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of FSU systems and data. Throughout his career, Bill has accumulated over 30 years of IT security, privacy, governance, risk and compliance experience in the private and public sectors. Bill earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida, his master’s degree from The George Washington University and his doctorate in instructional systems and learning technologies from Florida State University. Bill also holds numerous certifications, including Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) and Project Management Professional (PMP) credential.
Noelle Keller has a well-rounded background in tech, from hands-on work racking and networking servers in data centers to diving into devops and specializing in endpoint security. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Wyoming and has multiple security certifications under her belt. Throughout her career, she’s been dedicated to helping organizations strengthen their security operations, working with solutions like Carbon Black, VMware, and Palo Alto Networks. Noelle loves working closely with clients, taking the time to understand their unique needs and goals so she can implement the best possible solutions. She’s passionate about making cybersecurity approachable and effective, helping businesses build strong, secure foundations that set them up for long-term success. Kathy Stokes is a nationally recognized leader in the fraud arena. As Director of Fraud Prevention Programs with the AARP Fraud Watch Network, Kathy leads AARP’s social mission work to educate older adults on the risks that fraud represents to their financial security. Since 2019, she and her team have expanded AARP’s leadership in this space, by mounting a national campaign to change the narrative on how we talk about fraud victims and guiding an effort to fundamentally transform how our country addresses fraud. Kathy currently serves on the advisory council to the Board of the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators and on the advisory council to the Senior Issues Committee of the North American Securities Administrators Association. Kathy also serves on a Federal Reserve Working Group on Scam Information Sharing.
Peter Warmka is a former Senior Intelligence Officer with the CIA having over 20 years of experience in breaching the security of target organizations overseas. He is an Adjunct Professor at Webster University’s Masters in Cybersecurity Program, Founder of Orlando, Florida-based firm Counterintelligence Institute, LLC, and author of the non-fiction books “Confessions of a CIA Spy – The Art of Human Hacking” and “Why Are You Messing with Me? – A Senior Survival Guide on Fraud, Privacy, and Security.” He is passionate about using his expertise to help city, state, and federal government entities, non-profits, academic institutes, private companies, and individuals to safeguard their sensitive proprietary and personal data. In addition to conducting his signature training program, Mr. Warmka is a frequent conference speaker, guest podcaster, and author of numerous publications on social engineering and the manipulation of insiders. He received a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a master’s degree in International Business Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management. Jeremy Fromm is a seasoned leader in the physical security industry, currently serving as the Evangelist for Mercury Security at HID Global. With nearly two decades of experience spanning product management, technical support, and enterprise business development, Jeremy brings a deep understanding of open-architecture access control systems and their evolving role in modern security strategies. In his role at HID Global, Jeremy focuses on bridging the gap between technology and end-users, emphasizing the importance of end-to-end encryption and secure access control solutions. Mark Fetterhoff is a Senior Advisor with AARP Fraud Watch Network. He has worked on education and outreach to older adults for over 15 years. Mark currently works with a crew of dedicated volunteers to address thousands of inquiries each month about fraud, scams and financial exploitation as part of the AARP Fraud Watch Network Helpline
Anthony Hendricks is a regulatory, data privacy, and high-stakes commercial litigation attorney in Crowe & Dunlevy’s Oklahoma City office and serves as the head of the firm’s Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Practice Group. Anthony has focused his practice on environmental compliance, regulatory enforcement and permitting, and other “bet-the-company” suits in the areas of data security, privacy, mortgage/financial service, and other complex business litigation. Anthony counsels clients on the constantly changing field of cybersecurity. He has guided clients in various industries through multiple types of data incidents. Anthony represents clients in all stages of incident response from the investigation, notification, remediation, managing privacy class action risks, and defense of litigation and regulatory inquiry from the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and state attorneys general. Anthony advises clients on their reporting obligations and helps them operationalize the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). At the state level, he provides compliance training on the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California Consumer Rights Act (CCRA), Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), and Colorado Privacy Act (CPA). He regularly conducts training for senior leadership and corporate boards regarding risk identification and mitigation in the areas of privacy and cyber.
Micheal Stute’s expertise spans over 25 years in information security research, focusing on advanced machine learning and its application to data analytics for security. As the architect of the earliest behavioral detection engine at Global DataGuard, they have shaped pioneering advancements in the field. Holding nine patents in information security and machine learning, they continue their journey as an independent consultant and security architect. Their passion lies in identifying genuine advancements versus misleading claims in AI and machine learning. He currently works in institutional research at Casper College.
Debra R. Richardson, MBA, CFE, APM, APPM, CPRS, is a distinguished expert in Accounts Payable and Vendor Setup & Maintenance. With over two decades of experience at leading Fortune 500 companies, she specializes in preventing fraud and enhancing vendor processes.
As a Certified Fraud Examiner, Debra has significantly contributed to both the private and public sectors in fraud prevention. She serves on the NACHA ACH Network Advisory Board, is an expert with the Institute of Finance and Management and holds the position of Chapter President for the Central Atlantic Region IOFM Chapter. Recognized as a Top 50 AP Influencer, her focus is on implementing effective authentication techniques, internal controls, best practices, and validations to mitigate fraud, regulatory fines and bad vendor data.
Debra is the Chapter Administrator and Member of the Southeast Michigan Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (SEMCACFE).
She has a YouTube channel where she posts vendor master file tips every Tuesday and hosts a weekly podcast: “Putting the AP in hAPpy”.
Nick Leghorn serves as the Chief Information Security Officer at Bluecore, Nick brings extensive experience in cybersecurity leadership. Previously serving as Director of Application Security at The New York Times, NIck established a robust application security team and implemented consistent vulnerability management processes. They managed security programs at Indeed.com, where they built and led teams specializing in GRC, IT compliance, and risk management. At Mitel, NIck directed risk-based vulnerability management programs and oversaw IDS implementation. Holding a B.S. in Security and Risk Analysis from Penn State University, they excel in designing comprehensive cybersecurity frameworks and fostering collaboration across engineering and legal teams.
Paul Zindell With over 20 years of experience in sales engineering and IT,Paul currently serves as Director of Sales Engineering for the Public Sector at Sophos. In this role, they lead a team to secure US public sector clients. Previously, they held various leadership positions at Sophos, including Director of Sales Engineering for North America and Enterprise West, developing advanced security strategies. Their career began at CDW, where they designed networking solutions for government and educational clients. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics from Indiana University Bloomington, they have deep expertise in cybersecurity and network architecture.
